About Me

Hey there! đź‘‹

I believe that we live in a very special time. A time in which technology advances at a pace that only a few people could have imagined.

With the rise of AI and the publicity that ChatGPT has received since November 2022, it feels like we are suddenly living in a new age that will either end in a dystopia or a utopia: the age of artificial intelligence. Think about those words for a second…

Artificial Intelligence. Intelligence that is created by humans. How does that even work? What does God’s word say about that? How should Christians approach this topic?

I will explore these questions and many more in this blog.

Jonathan Headshot

I was one of those people who witnessed the rise of ChatGPT from the first week of its release. ChatGPT sparked a passion and interest in AI chatbots, but also in AI in general for me. I was captivated by it and I wanted to learn everything about it! I was blessed enough to spend most of the year 2023 learning everything from the underlying mathematics and code, to building an artificial intelligence myself, to mastering the effective use of generative AI models (like ChatGPT), a practice known as prompt engineering.

As it became clear that AI will stay with us and will transform our world in a multitude of ways (unlike passing trends), I saw an increasing need for people, especially Christians, to become educated on the topic because there is a lot of confusion, misunderstanding, and purposeful lies in the world.

By now, my passion for AI has led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Applied Artificial Intelligence, which I started in October 2024. This academic journey allows me to move deeper into the field of AI and to approach a more professional level of knowledge.

My Beliefs

I believe in the absolute authority and truth of Scripture.
2 Timothy 3:16

17 All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness,

Psalm 119:160

17 The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments is everlasting.

Practically, this means that I believe in the Bible as the inerrant revelation of truth by God to humanity. Though the Bible is not a history book (in the sense of merely recording history), it is historically perfectly accurate. Though the Bible is not a science book, in every statement it makes, it is perfectly accurate. Though it doesn't mention artificial intelligence, it reveals the underlying dynamics of human beings and therefore how we differ from AI. I believe the Bible has an answer to every question (although there are also some very few truths that God has not revealed to us, certainly for good reasons).
