AI, the Bible, and our Future: A Complete Guide
The core of this blog is my book AI, the Bible, and our Future: A Complete Guide. Upon completion, it will contain seven chapters that explore the main topics of artificial intelligence and how we as Christians should approach them. These chapters will be published in sections each week here on my blog, so be sure to subscribe if you’d like to be notified when new posts are available! As the world of artificial intelligence continues to unfold and the implications of it's presence in our lives becomes more clear in the days to come, this book will be continuously updated to reflect these changes.
Chapter 1: Artificial Intelligence (AI)
This chapter will serve as an introduction to artificial intelligence by covering AI's history within the context of the dominion mandate in Genesis 1:28-30. We will take a look into the inner workings of AI both on a mathematical and programmatic level, as well as looking specifically at ChatGPT.
Chapter 2: Theoretical Foundations
Here we will establish the theoretical foundations to understand what AI is and is not, what it can have and cannot have. We will go over the concepts of intelligence, creativity, consciousness, and sentience. Furthermore, we will examine the biblical definitions of body, soul, and spirit and their connections to the aforementioned concepts. What is the difference between AI, bacteria, animals, humans? What are the secular views and ideas about this topic in comparison to biblical reality?
